A beautiful customer creation!!!!

Good evening everyone,

I have put this on a bit later than expected it's that time of year, I'm off to Lakeside tomorrow for Xmas shopping and just maybe 12 a.m shopping tonight to beat the crowds.

This is Vicky's creation and some of her words using one of the new Digital Stamps from Crafts and Me HERE she is called 'Forever Rose'by artist Hannah Lynn

This beauty is my fave & I think it is the sort of image that will suit many colour schemes & many themes. As this is for my SM I have gone for pretty shabby chic. Now this is not what it seems..........for when you untie the ribbon & open it up......

mmmmmm choccies.....the idea is, its to look like a book from the outside but reveals a surprise inside....the surprise is up to you. I will be buying some chocs especially to put in I just grabbed these out of our quality st tin to give the idea.... A tag is attached to write a message on.

Altho its for crimbo I'm hoping she will want to keep this so I didnt want it looking christmassy so would only be able to be got out one month a year.

This is without chocs

It all ties nicely shut with a gingham ribbon.

The rose I made myself from plain paper......come to my blog after crimbo when there will be changes. It will be re-designed & there will be a few tutorials on here also....I'm on doing them in between other things at the mo lol. Hopefully you will like the new improved blog when it arrives lol.

This is the last pic....I have saved the close-up of this beautiful image until last. She is coloured with Promarkers & Sakura gel pen added to parts of the rose. All the paper & card have been inked with 'Victorian Velvet' & 'Vintage Photo' distress inks. The flower next to the rose is actually from these scrummy Marianne design paper pad which is called 'Roses Are Red' & they are totally beautiful. I cut around the rose on the gingham paper then covered it with extra thick embossing powder & zapped it with my heat gun.

Thank you Vicky for sharing this with everyone.

I'm off now to make the dinner, I'm behind with that too, my poor family!!!!

Frosted Rose Take II

,Hiya Peeps,

I do hope your not running round like headless chickens like me. I've left it all to last! As usual it just crept up on me, mind you if I had the money and the lists of what everyone would like I would do my shopping in November.

Today's card is almost identical to one I posted a few weeks back, but I was asked to do a commissioned card exactly the same except with brown hair and a christmas sentiment. So this is it. I had hoped to do another image for you but time has run out :(

As this is my last post before Christmas I would like to take this opportunity to wish all you Crafts and Me Followers a Very Happy Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year.

Melody's Beads - A little tutorial

Good Morning! I've been asked a couple of times how I did the beads on Melody's Dress so thought I'd show you how I created some tones and the bead effect.
For this I've used promarkers, the purples I chose were ORCHID, PURPLE & AUBERGINE. For the beads you will need an opaque white pen, preferably ball point such as Inkssentials.

The image is Flapper Girl Melody by Lemon Shortbread which you'll find HERE.

STEP 1 - Colour your face tones in (previous tutorial here) then use the ORCHID promarker and colour most of the dress and hat in. Next take the PURPLE promarker and add some shading as shown below leaving part of the Orchid showing.

Step 2 - Use your Orchid promarker and colour over all of the hat and dress to blend it with the purple then take the AUBERGINE promarker and add darker shading as below. Colour rings of Aubergine underneath the beads to give a shadow effect. Again use your Orchid and blend all the colours together.

Step 3 - Continue to add Aubergine and blend in with the Orchid, you may need to do this a couple of time until you're happy with the tones achieved. I've added a dark patch on the left hand part of the dress now and under her left hand for a deep shadow.

Adding the beads - For the beads I used a ball point type pen rather than my usual sakura souffle whch has a fatter nib. I used a white opaque pen by Inkssentials and if you press hard it leaves a dint rather than a solid white dot on some of them which gives a good effect :) If you press softly you will get a solid white dot.

Detail of the beads.

Hope you like :)

Another new girl joins the shop :D

Just check out all that hair to play with :D I LOVED colouring this one in. I have coloured her up in several colours to be honest so be prepared to see a few more cards with the beautiful Vanessa. I have used my normal mix of promarkers and sakura stardust pens so she sparkles a lot more than it looks like in these pictures. I have also used some of the tiny pearls from the Crafts and me store just to finish the card off. I wanted to keep the layout quite simple so that the focus is all on her.
Don't forget all of these new stamps will be available for pre order with 10% off for newsletter readers from today for one week. As well as that there is a big Birthday celebration going on in Crafts and Me land for the stores First Birthday! Make sure you don't miss out as there are going to be different offers both here on the blog and in the Crafts and me store.
