I Got to Play with my NEW Rubber!!!

Hi Everyone.  Today I have cards to share with you using 2 of the new rubber stamps available now at Crafts and Me.  This first GORGEOUS image is by  Jasmine Becket-Griffith, called Butterflies in my Hair.

I am posting this late as my Google blogger account would not let me do anything last night .  I couldn't even log onto my blog.  I just got home from work and it is working okay now.  I was starting to freak out as I have a lot of thing I need to get done.
Isn't she gorgeous?? I just love all of Jasmine Becket-Griffith's artwork.  She has soooo many beautiful pieces of artwork and I am so glad that Teresa at Crafts and Me finally got her to turn them into stamps. Thanks Teresa for working so hard to get her to turn her BEAUTIFUL images into rubber.

I used some Basic Grey Indian Summer DP, some flower sprays and butterflies. The frame around her is from K&Company and I used some pop dots to lift the frame off the image. I also added some Kaiser Pearls to the right side of the card. I colored her with copics. E50,E51,E21,E000 and E0000(chalk on her cheeks)
E18,E19,E09,E15,E13,E50,E51(Hair), Dress- E18,E19,YR18,YR09,YR07,Y38,Y17,Y04
Background- E40,E41,E42,E44,E50,C1

I created this card for my  Deconstructed Sketch Challenge DT.  I wanted to use this stamp for my challenge. I used one of Hannah Lynn's new rubber stamps called "Genevieve".   LOVE HER!! Isn't she totally AWESOME???

I used some DCWV DP, Flowered jewels, purple rhinestones, Metal rope beads, Eksuccess border punch, foam tape, and the image was colored with copic markers.

I hope you like the new Crafts and Me stamps, and soon she will have some Digi's in the store. and remember that the Crafts and Me Digi DT has a new challenge going on over at the Crafts and Me Challenge Blog, so I hope you can play along with them.
Here is my card from last weeks Challenge

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great 4th of July weekend.

MMMMM the smell of new rubbah...............mmmmmm

Good afternoon everyone hope you've all had a great weekend. As a lot of you know I have been poorly & in pain for a bit now & on Thursday morning got rushed to hospital with severe pain & difficulty in breathing. Well they let me home Saturday night after a LOT of begging & pleading........I would of been on my knees if not for the pain lol. Anyway I've got Pancreatitus which if any of you have had it is sooooo painful. Anyway the cause is cus I have LOTS of stones in the gallbladder & some have decided to travel to the pancreas which is not good & the only cure is to remove the gallbladder. So its lots of drugs down my throat to help with the pain & wait for the op.
Now I have a fabulous boss here I really have & told me not to worry about my DT work at all. Now I'm really good at doing as I'm told......honestly ahem......lol.........but when I got home from the hospital I had new rubbah releases from Teresa in my DT pack & well I just had to colour up some of them so altho I've not been ip to crafting I did sit on my bed yesterday watching Avatar & colouring lol.
Teresa has new Rubber stamps being released this week which of course as always are exclusive to
Crafts & Me & you dont want to miss these.....hopefully if the internet plays nicely for her Teresa will have these new releases on the store website today.....psst please wait tho til I've bought all the ones I dont have lol.
Anyway the 2 I've coloured are by my absolute fave artist.....Hannah Lynn.....I could sit & colour hers all day I really could...........
This is 'Sweet Selena' Mermaid & I've coloured her with Copics. Now this I've have changed with colouring just slightly. Her arm she is actually wearing a glove but instead I've done a naked arm & where the gloves end on her fingers I've turned them into finger nails & painted them red of course... Her hair is actually a half fringe but instead I've done it so a wispy bit comes down & drawn in the rest of her eyebrow. I've also enhanced her eyes with a copic. Isn't she beautiful.
Now the next image is my absolute fave image & is now out of all my masshoosive rubber collection is my fave stamp.........as soon as I saw her on Hannah Lynn's website I hoped that Teresa would someday turn this beauty into rubber...........& she did woooooooooo hooooooooooo

This is 'Genevieve' Steampunk Fairy & again is coloured with copics. I coloured her with pink hair the same as Hannah has done but did her eyes a different colour & put pink make-up on to match her hair. I've not done the background that will be done when she goes on a card.
On both of these images I have done green eyes as I love green eyes lol.......not that I'm bias cus I have green eyes lol. Isn't she just the prettiest thing.......well after my daughter of course lol.
Here is also the card I made for the challenge last week....this is the last card I made nearly a week ago, I'm having huge withdrawal lol.

This is 'Pearl Swirl Mermaid' by Jasmine Becket-Griffith & she has been painted with Distress Inks which I'm still practicing with.....she is fabulous to colour I love the sparkle I added to her hair & tail, she deserves some bling dont ya think?? Anyway there is still time to enter our challenge this week which is from us 'Rockin Rubbah' girlies & the challenge is stitches, faux or real the choice is yours.....the prize on offer as always is fabulous....so come on hop along to here & join in the fun....ya gotta be in it to win it.
Of course our fabulously talented digi team will start the new challenge on wednesday.

Well I'm gonna love ya & leaves ya now as I've babbled for long enough but dont forget that there is a chance to guest design for this fabulous team so if you are interested click on the button on the side bar to find out......you wont regret it believe me.....me, Teresa is stuck with now lol.
Well tatty bye & enjoy the rest of your day
mmwah hugs Vicky xoxoxoxox
P.S. Sorry for the long post peeps lol.

Gift of Winter

Hi everyone, Karina here today to show you some more cards in the hope you can get some inspirations.

The first card I show you is made with the beautiful image 'Gift of Winter' by the great artist 'Sara Burrier'. You can find this image HERE.  I love her images so much. They are great to work with. I wanted to make her in green and brown tones, so not that winterlike. She is more a gift of spring today. You know, I always chose the papers first before I start to make a card. And I thought she would fit perfect to this paper from K&C Company. It is an elder one I have in my stash for quite some time. The striped one is from Kaisercraft.

The second card I show you today is made with a gorgeous image by 'Sara Burrier' as well. She is called 'Truth'. Isn't she such a beauty? You can find her HERE. I created this card for the last challenge over at Crafts and Me Challenges where the theme was Bling it on. So I wanted to show her here as well. The paper I used here is from My Mind's Eye.

Right now we have the theme Stitches over there. We would love to see your creations at the Crafts and Me Challenges. You don't need to have a stitching maschine, faux stitches are fine as well.

Now I wish you all a happy weekend and want to thank you for your visit here. Always much apprechiated.
Hugs, Karina

Tutorial - Merging a digi over a printed background

Evening all! I've finally got kids to sleep so I can sit down on PC! Its my youngest birthday tomorrow, little miss mookins will be 3! Goes so so quick!

I have a little tutorial for you tonight for those of you already familiar with merging a couple of digi stamps together.  This one is using digis with background images like photos or digital papers.

I use Paint Shop Pro 9 but peeps using other programs may be familiar with the controls so here we go!  You should be able to get a full size view by clicking on the pic to get a better look.

I've used FOREST FRIEND DIGI for the example.

Step 1 - Open your digi image - Its IMPORTANT TO USE THE JPG VERSION for this technique as the png is transparent and you don't want that, you want the white on it to colour in :)

Open your background image such as a photo or digi background and make copies of both to work with and close original off.

SELECT MAGIC WAND
CLICK IN THE WHITE BIT OUTSIDE YOUR DIGI STAMP
CLICK SELECTIONS THEN INVERT

This will put the 'marching ants' around your stamp then click EDIT - COPY (Or presas control & C)

STEP 2 - Click onto your background image and select EDIT - PASTE - PASTE AS NEW LAYER
(You may have to fiddle around with the size and resize your digi to fit before pasting)

You will see your new layer in the layers box (On right hand side here) called Raster 2.  You may choose to stop at this but if you want part of the background showing through the top layer then keep reading!

STEP 3 - Here's the fun bit!  Make sure you click on Raster 2 in the layers box then click your MAGIC WAND then select a white area you want to show through such as the wings.  I do mine piece by piece as you'll see in the pic below, the marching ants are around the area I'm working on.

Once selected go to tools on the right then select the ERASER TOOL from the TOOLS menu on the left.  The eraser settings will appear and you can play around with these.  A 0 opacity is completely see through while 100 is solid.  I wanted a not quite see through effect so chose 95 opacity and 27 density then erased gently leaving the very edge white.

Here's the final effect of the wings, pretty huh!

And the image coloured in.  The swan is a photo I took in black and white on the canal near home.  I added some colour to the water and grass bank with promarkers and sakura stardust.
And another ready for colouring.  The photo is of the trans pennine trail at the back of mine when we had that heavy snow earlier this year

These two are on digital background papers, same technique.  This one is Twilight Lily Fae digi

Hope you understood that!  I know a lot of you can already merge images quite easily so thought I'd show you a new trick ;)

The Little Mermaid

Good afternoon everyone Vicky here, I know its not my week but I'm covering until all our DT are back. So I'm afraid after today you have me to put up with every Monday lol. Do you ever have one of those days where it just doesn't go to plan? Well I've had one of those days & to make it worse my card just hasnt gone to plan but I've not got time to do another one :0(
Today for my card I have used a digi image......I sooooo love digi's I really love the versatility of them.
I have used 'My Little Mermaid' by Sara Burrier made exclusively for Crafts & Me. I decided to do a step card this really are the easiest cards to make.

This is a fabulous image I've never coloured her before today, she is sooooo easy to colour. I coloured her hair with copic warm greys as they have a tinge of brown in them & her tail I coloured with cool greys & added glitter to her..........thought she deserved a bit of bling.....

The die-cuts I've tried to mimic seaweed. The blank space in the middle fold is to put a sentiment once I know what this card will be used for.

Well I will leave you in peace now peeps. There is still time to enter the Crafts & Me Challenge what the digi team have set this week which is 'Bling it on' & we all love bling dont we.
Don't forget its the Rubbah Team tomorrow setting a new challenge & annoucing winner & Top 3 from a fortnight ago so you dont want to miss that either.
Toodles for now take care & thank you for stopping by we really appreciate it mmwah
Lotsa hugs Vicky

Friday 17 June 2011

Thank Goodness it's Friday!

Morning Peeps,

It's certainly been a long week at work this week, well in fact it's been a long two weeks, but for different reasons that I wont readdress.  I have today created a card using the new Jasmine Beckett Griffiths "Gargoyles of Notre Damm" available from Crafts and Me HERE.

I did a bit of masking on the images as well as creating a moon and then airbrushed the background, although I didn't mask around the images too well and there was a little white area left that I had to touch up, but we learn don't we.

The flowers were made from punches and I've popped a little tutorial at the end of this post if you interested in making them.

My second card is my DT card that I thought I'd pop on here in case you missed it. On this card I used "Day Dreamer by Sara Burrier availalble HERE.

And if your interested, here's the tutorial on how to make the scruncy punched flowers.

This is what you'll need

3 Punches or Dies
Doublesided cardstock
Mini Mister filled with water
Brads
Ink if liked
Heatgun

Punch 4 large, 3 medium and 3 small Flowers, I have used punches for this tutorial but I have also used Dies, so experiment with whatever you have available

You will need to pierce a hole in the centre of each flower.  I tend to do this individually as it you do it when all 10 are together it can be quite hard to pierce through.

Ink the edges if you like this style, bear in mind that once we add the water the ink will spread, but I love the look of this.  Add your brad to the centre

Spray the flower with the water mister and fold up each petal to the centre.  The more scrunchier the better, so don't worry about being particular.

It will look like this. You can either use your heat gun and gently unravel the petals and heat or you can leave it to dry naturally.

I used the centre petals closed.  You could add a pearl centre and some glimmer mist for that sheen and sparkle finish.

For the smaller ones I used 4 medium flower punches and 4 small and followed the same procedure.

Voila!

Have a good weekend.
